How to use tap mode on a Roland MC-202, TB-303 and TR-606
Since I've had a few requests about tap mode I figured I'd make a video showing how to do this on the MC-202, TB-303 and TR-606. All in all it's quite simple to do as you can see. If you are wondering about the weird hand directions when I'm working on the 606 it's because of the camera tripod in the way ;-)

nice tutorial. For the 303, the manual also explains you can use the 1 key (C) as a sustain-note key during tap mode entry. This takes a bit of practice to get used to, but it's similar to other synths from those days (even casio vl-tone has 2 step keys for the same reason).
ReplyDeleteKeep 'em coming ;)
nice tip, will give that a try sometime
ReplyDeleteHi Paul!
ReplyDeleteGreat video, but I still think you have do a video showing people how to use other timesignatures and pre-scales than straight 16th notes. I tried to do it in this video but since my english is not as good I prefered to keep my mouth shut while shooting:
